Long before Theron's career took off, she starred in a photoshoot for Playboy. The pictures were forgotten about and never featured, though once she broke into the acting world, the world-famous magazine dragged them up. In the May 1999 issue, they used her as the cover star, with a full feature inside, though Theron desperately tried to prevent the pictures from being distributed. She even took Playboy to court and attempted to sue them for using the images without her consent, but her bid failed and the magazine was green-lit. There's no way of knowing how her opportunities were affected, though it can't have damaged her career which has since seen the South African actress win numerous awards, and worldwide fame.
