Kate Austen was one of the main characters on the hugely successful ABC show Lost, played by Evangeline Lily. However, as it turns out, both Lily and Cobie Smulders were up for the role and Smulders believes it's all down to her that Lily was the one who successfully won it! Speaking at Comic-Con, Smulders said "Evangeline and I were both testing for Lost. She owes a lot to me because I went in and I bombed the audition. And she was like, Thank you!'" The pair first met on a flight to that audition and they instantly hit it off. They are now destined to appear on screen together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Smulders' Maria Hull already an established character and Lily set to play Hope Van Dyne in this year's upcoming Ant-Man movie.
