As is almost a rite of passage for all American actors - young or old, film or telly, brilliant or scenery-chewing - Emily VanCamp had a one-episode guest role on an episode of Law And Order: Special Victims Unit. You know, the police procedural which stars former Cop Killer rapper Ice-T as the member of a unit that investigates crimes involving sexual assault. VanCamp starred in the 2007 episode Dependent, from the eighth season of the long-running series. She played Charlotte Truex, a teenage girl who appears to have murdered her mother and attacked her mob lawyer father whilst under the influence of a lot of drugs. Shes a party girl who doesnt remember her nights out, ysee. The role is essentially homicidal Lindsay Lohan, with VanCamps character gaining an extra layer of tragedy when her boyfriend (a possible accessory to the murder) dies of a heart attack whilst in custody. In the end they give her truth serum - because giving her more drugs seemed like a good idea - and it turns out the boyfriend did it after all. Hooray!
