10 Things You Didn't Know About Emily VanCamp

6. Her Fighting Skills Come From A Dancing Past

Besides having a good line in scowls and cutting one-liners, one of the major strengths of Emily VanCamp€™s Revenge performance is her fighting skills. She got to show off her martial arts chops a little in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as well, once she stopped pretending to be a neighbour struggling with washing and revealed she was a SHIELD agent. Hopefully she€™ll get to do more of that in the next Captain America film, because she€™s a dab hand with that fight choreography. Something VanCamp herself puts down to her past as a dancer: she started studying at age three, went to a summer training camp at eleven, and was accepted at the school of the Canadian Royal Ballet soon after. To a degree she was following in her older sister€™s footsteps, who is now a retired dancer who lives with her husband and daughter in Tokyo. VanCamp, meanwhile, was lead into acting by her other sister. She visited Katie VanCamp on the set of the film Ladies Room, got the acting book, started taking classes, and the rest is history. Fighty history.
