As a kid, Lilly was renowned for her love of and skill in climbing trees. As a result, one of her nicknames - alongside "Evi" is the very appropriate "Monkey," for reasons which are pretty self-explanatory. This tree-lovin' aspect of her personality was also written in as a character trait when she starred as Kate Austen on Lost, which explains why Kate was always scaling those goddamn trees in every episode of the show. Lilly also claims to have been a tomboy as kid, and was far more comfortable hanging out with the guys and being athletic. That changed overnight, apparently, when the actress hit puberty, and suddenly Lilly found herself transformed from a freckle-faced teen into a beautiful woman, which caused her male friends to treat her differently. Which she hated.
