As is often the case when a name in Hollywood sounds just way too good to be true, Evangeline Lilly isn't actually called Evangeline Lilly. Not really, anyway. Evangeline is actually this actress's middle name - her first name is "Nicole." As in, Nicole Lilly. Doesn't have quite the same ring to it, does it? It's common for people to change their names when they decide on an acting career, and "Evangeline" does have something of an edge over the more normal "Nicole," which explains why she swapped it. Not that there's anything wrong with the name Nicole, of course. Nicole is a lovely name (apologies to anybody named Nicole reading this article).
