10 Things You Didn't Know About Harry Potter's Scar

7. It Inspired A Trend Of Drunken Copycats

An inevitable repercussion of the global success Harry Potter has enjoyed, fans of the series getting lightning scars of their own was always going to be a thing.

People will obviously paint on their own scars for cosplays and Halloween costumes, and some may even use temporary tattoos. But then there's this lot, who got extremely drunk in Magaluf and decided to get a very real, very difficult to remove Potter scar grafted onto their own skin.

In 2016, Facebook page Magaluf Box Office posted several images of a young woman who decided to visit a tattoo shop after a boozy night on the town. Rather than opting for a more discreet choice, she chose to have a scar replica emblazoned across the dead-centre of her forehead. Shortly after, a man did exactly the same thing. And considering Magaluf's reputation, that probably wasn't the end of it.

We've all done silly things while drunk, but imagine having to explain this one to your boss on a Monday morning?

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
