10 Things You Didn't Know About Inglourious Basterds
6. Multiple Actors Dubbed Their Own Lines For Foreign Releases
One of the best things about being a multilingual actor is that you get paid more than once for the same film. We're speculating on the double pay-check, but we wouldn't be surprised if it were true, considering the extra amount of time it must have taken for Christoph Waltz and Daniel Brühl to dub their own English-language performances for foreign audiences. Both actors are well-known for speaking multiple languages fluently, and it's for this very reason that both Waltz and Brühl dubbed their own lines for the German, French and Spanish versions of the film. Whether the two actors were paid extra for their dubbing work isn't known, but it's always nice to see that actors are committed to giving their fans the world over genuine performances instead of the mess that usually happens: i.e. mouth and speech synchronisation looking like something went horribly wrong in the editing process.
