Jeepers Creepers was released on Labor Day in 2001 and broke the record for the highest ever Labor Day opening weekend, taking $15.8 million over the four days. It went on to take $37.9 million in total in North America and held the record until 2003 when it was knocked off the top spot by the sequel Jeepers Creepers 2.

It is still ranked number eighth to this day, with the sequel being the sixth most successful film opening on Labour Day - and Rob Zombie's 2007 Halloween remake now holding number one.

After his budget cuts, Salva was left with just $10 million to make his movie, making it incredibly successful, earning a total of $59.2 million worldwide.
