7. The Creeper Was Supposed To Talk!
One of the defining characteristics of The Creeper was that he was silent, which gave him a menacing, mysterious quality.
However, in a deleted scene, after killing the Cat Lady, he holds her corpse up to Darry and Trish and says "She don't smell too good, Darius..." in an Old Western accent, before tossing her aside on the floor. It has been suggested that he learned Darry's full name after reading a name tag when he was sniffing his clothes in the car park at the diner.
The line was eventually removed as it was felt that it detracted from the enigmatic characteristic of The Creeper and made him seem less intimidating.
This said, a theory was put forward that this would have been a good way to account for one of the major plot-holes in the film, as it would indicate that The Creeper took on the memories and personalities or the people he ate. This could explain how he was able to wear clothes, drive a car and even possibly how he managed to get a personalised number plate!
