8. Robin Williams Wasn't The First Choice To Play Alan

It's an undeniable truth that Robin Williams was the perfect choice to play Alan Parrish in the movie, however he wasn't the director's first choice, as a slew of other top Hollywood names were also considered for the role.

At various times during pre-production, famous funny men such as Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Michael Keaton were considered, while Blockbuster names such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson and Kevin Costner were also thrown around as possibilities to play Alan.

Despite all of these truly interesting choices, it would be Tom Hanks who would first be offered the chance to star as the bedraggled elder Parrish, a role that would surely have had the Forest Gump star looking not too dissimilar to his Chuck Noland character, made famous in the 2000 movie Cast Away.

Fantasy casting aside, the right choice was made in the end, but it sure would have been interesting to see a Jumanji movie starring The Terminator.

You can see the tagline now: "I'll be back ... in 26 years".
