Like seemingly just about every Hollywood star these days, Maika's stage name is not in fact her real name. She was actually born Dillon Monroe Buckley, and because she's been largely referred to as Maika for most of her life (for reasons unknown), she decided to adopt that as her screen billing. It certainly reads better than the relatively masculine name of Dillon, but to confuse matters even more, she goes by the name of "Maika Dillon Monroe" on Twitter. What was wrong with Buckley!? At least her screen name keeps it simple: both names begin with the letter M so it's a little easier to remember, right? And there's also the obvious comparison between herself and Marilyn Monroe, both being classic beauties of their respective eras...
