10 Things You Didn't Know About Mystique

5. She's One Big Rash

Speaking of nudity, actress Rebecca Romijn was actually naked when playing Mystique, with only layers of blue paint and prosthetics covering her up. When Jennifer Lawrence plays Mystique in First Class, she developed a serious allergy caused by the body paint. A specialist had to be called in to treat her after her skin broke out in rashes and boils. Fortunately for Lawrence, Mystique often wore clothing in First Class, largely due to her reluctance to reveal her true form. Days of Future Past returned the character to her nudist appearance in the first trilogy. To counteract the affect of the paint on her body, Jennifer Lawrence was given a blue suit up to her shoulders. This had the added benefit of significantly reducing the 7 hours makeup procedure used in the earlier films to create Mystique's appearance.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
