4. She Chose Charles
The X-men have used Mystique's shifting loyalties as a representative of the conflict between Xavier and Magneto since her introduction in First Class. While the original trilogy firmly established Mystique as an agent of Magneto, it was First Class that gave her the backstory as Charles' foster sister. The shifts in the two men's attitudes and relationship was central to First Class and Days of Future Past, with Mystique generally caught in the middle In the original script for Days of Future Past, Mystique was going to side with Charles after he convinced her not to kill Trask. She subsequently returns back to Charles' mansion, where her gunshot wound is tended to by Hank. This would have had the knock-on effect that she would appear in the altered future in a relationship with Beast. There were even plans to have Rebecca Romijn reprising her original role. However, this was changed after the producers felt that the ending was too unpredictable. Mystique's appearance in the altered future was never even shot as the ending was already being trimmed for pacing reasons.

He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
