7. Ron Burgundy Is Partially Based On Porn Star Ron Jeremy
Okay, so technicallyonly the title of Anchorman is a riff on the legendary porn star, slightly changing its namesake from Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy to Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. But there are a couple of other obvious similarities between the real adult film star and the fictitious news reporter. They've got the same first names. Duh. And they also sport glorious mustaches, the kind that make little boys dream about growing up to become real men. There's also the overconfidence of each "legend," though one's is more justified (and proven) than the other's. And we wouldn't doubt it if Will Ferrell and director Adam McCay decided to do some "deep" research to figure out who Ron Burgundy should be based on.
