9. Shirley Bassey's Title Song Is An All-Timer
It's probably fair to say that the Shirley Bassey Bond themes are some of the most-aged of the lot, which makes it easy to forget just how well her Goldfinger theme actually stands up to modern scrutiny within the context of the film.
The glorious opening title sequence - one of the series' best and most memorable to date, by the way - is lent an unexpectedly haunting, eerie quality by Bassey's booming vocals, no matter that Austin Powers: Goldmember basically tried to ruin every good memory of it.
Far more bombastic than the themes for Dr. No and From Russia with Love, Goldfinger's is a tenacious earworm that defined the brassy excess which would characterise many of the most iconic future Bond themes. How can you not love it?
