10 Things You Learn Rewatching Halloween III: Season Of The Witch (1982)
1. In Summary
Halloween III: Season of the Witch may often be referred to as the nadir or oddball of the franchise thanks to its lack of Michael Myers, but it is shockingly good. It has its fair share of issues here and there, but the pros vastly outweigh the cons.
It's an ambitious step in a unique new direction, that does wind up tying into the franchise thematically in some really interesting ways. It's so good that it makes one genuinely curious where Carpenter and Hill would have gone with the franchise, had this one been the success they were hoping for.
Haddonfield High Superlatives:
Best Kill: Harry's nose job.
Funniest Scene: Challis and Ellie sneaking through the heavily populated Silver Shamrock lab by hiding behind a giant rack of masks and moving the rack to cover them, as if moving a giant colorful ten-foot-wide rack is somehow less likely to be noticed.
Biggest Dick of a Character: A close race, but an even tie between Buddy and Little Buddy.
How Awful of a Town is Haddonfield?: Due to failure to participate in the events this week, Haddonfield has been disqualified.
Scream Queen Award: Tom Atkins as Dr. Daniel Challis, for his wonderful delivery of the final seventeen 'STOP IT's at the film's conclusion.
