10 Things You Learn Rewatching Halloween: Resurrection (2002)

2. The Worst Finale In Horror Movie History

Halloween Resurrection Jamie Lee Curtis
Miramax Films

This film is the proud owner of the worst third act in all of horror movie history.

After Michael has whittled the cast down to just Sara and Busta Rhymes' Freddie, he chases them into the garage. It is here that Busta Rhymes decides to take his final stand, making a grand entrance and delivering the iconic line;

"Trick or treat, motherfucker!?"

Busta proceeds to use his kung-fu fighting skills (yes, actually) to fight Michael. And then just when it looks as though Busta's time in the film has finally come to a merciful end and Michael might actually kill him, Busta picks up an electrical cord and proceeds to electrocute Michael Myers in the balls.

This is it, folks. The absolute low point of the franchise. The new film could have a ten-minute sequence of Michael Myers delivering a Shakespearian monologue and it would still not be the worst thing to ever happen to the character, because that right will always belong to this film.

Allegedly, this all had to do with Busta Rhymes insisting on fighting Michael in hand-to-hand combat and initial test audiences saying they wanted to see more of his character in the ending. Which just goes to show, test audiences are the worst.
