10 Things You Missed In Star Wars Deleted Scenes

6. Han Lifts His Leg To Block Greedo's View Of His Blaster - A New Hope

George Lucas has infamously tinkered with Greedo's (Paul Blake) death scene in A New Hope numerous times over the decades, most notably re-editing the sequence to have Greedo open fire on Han first, so that Han only kills him with retaliatory blaster fire.

Footage from an early rough cut of the scene, however, reveals a neat little detail you've probably not thought about before - how Han is able to get the drop on Greedo at all.

That is to say, he lifts his leg up onto the table they're sitting at, in turn blocking Greedo's view as he starts reaching for his own blaster.

In all of the officially released versions of the scene, Han lifts up his leg between shots, enough that the audience likely doesn't pay much attention to it at all.

But this extra shot from the proto-cut of the sequence makes it much clearer just how smart and sneaky, even ruthless, Han is actually being. All while giving the superficial impression of being defenseless, he's slyly readying himself to take action.
