10 Things You Need To Know About Aquaman
1. It Won’t Need To Bother With Origin Stuff
And finally, one of the most exciting things about the Aquaman movie: it won't be origin story. Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne will search out Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry/Aquaman in November 2017's Justice League film, which will presumably offer a basic lesson in his Atlantean mythos. This means that the Aquaman film won't have to cover that ground when it arrives in October 2018. It can do more of everything else, spend extra time building character relationships and digging deeper into its central hero.
This will be music to many moviegoers' ears. Everyone has seen the superhero origin tropes time and again, making it immensely refreshing when a film does something different. By introducing Aquaman in Justice League, the brains behind the DC Extended Universe have given Wan and Momoa a better chance at serving up an excellent movie that can stand on its own.
Those horror elements, the "fun" script, the epic action scenes, Aquaman rocking out, the interpersonal drama with Arthur, Mera, Ocean Master and Nuidis Vulko - there will be more time for all of that, because Wan won't have to waste time on explaining who this guy is and where he came from.
This movie sounds less lame by the minute, doesn't it?
