There has been a lot of curiosity about the origins of Wonder Woman in Dawn of Justice. Will she be the Amazon princess? What of the invisible jet? Well, at least in Dawn of Justice, it turns out that she's the daughter of a God. Zeus, to be exact. It appears that Wonder Woman is going to be the Thor of the DC Universe at this point. She'll be portrayed by Gal Gadot in the movie. The New 52 comic storyline in the DC universe is the inspiration for this move, and it's not a bad one. In the context of a modern film, it works better than her being the warrior princess of the Amazons. It still has its roots in mythology, it's part of the DC cannon, and it's a little less hokey. This is an origin story that we're good with. It will hopefully help us forget previous missteps with the character. This origin take was confirmed by producer Charles Roven with the Hollywood Reporter earlier in the month.
