"Return to Sender" (with the S portrayed as the iconic S on Superman's suit) says one protest sign. "Thanks for the 'Help'" says another, sarcastically. Yes, it appears as if the people of Earth turn on their adopted hero in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. At least, that's what some leaked set pictures appear to show. The photos were posted to Twitter, and you can find more here. In the context of a "vs." film this sort of development could work. You can show the dark side of human nature, with humanity siding with one of their own (Batman) against the "other" that is Superman. It's a natural, if sad (within the confines of the story), testimonial about the predilections and biases of the human race. Batman would no doubt see himself in the right for standing toe-to-toe with a being that seemingly brought destruction to the planet in Man of Steel, and the population would certainly feel the same.
