2. He Isnt Luke Skywalker
One fan theory that refuses to die is the rumour that Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker are actually one and the same. In a big third act reveal, many think that Kylo will slip off his mask to reveal Mark Hamills iconic Jedi character underneath. However, its surely about time that we ruled this one out. Although we havent seen Luke head-on in the trailers, leaked set images have shown Mark Hamill in a traditional brown and white Jedi robe. We also saw a robotic hand reaching out towards R2-D2 in the first trailer. Surely, that hooded figure - notably dressed differently to Ren - is Luke. It's also worth noting that J.J. Abrams is a Star Wars fan through and through. Even his Star Trek films have clear respectful nods towards Star Wars. It seems incredibly unlikely, then, that hed choose to tarnish Lukes heroic arc from the beloved original trilogy by making him a villain. Admittedly, itd be a cool twist. But Abrams simply wouldnt screw over George Lucas original trilogy in that big a way. And the fans surely wouldnt want him to, either. Thankfully, our next and final page has proof that confirms that Luke isnt Kylo once and for all
