10 Things You Need To Know About Marvel's New Spider-Man

5. Peter Parker Is Going Back To High School And Staying There

Many fans would have loved seeing a grown up Peter interacting with The Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It would have been something new (Peter has so far never managed to even escape college in the previous movies), but it also wouldn't have made a lot of sense. Where was he during the last eight years since Iron Man first appeared? Rather than rushing through his high school years, it's been reported that this new trilogy of Spider-Man movies will each focus on a year in the life of Peter Parker as a student. That's why Marvel were looking at actors from 14 - 18 during casting. They want someone who is going to stay looking young (and not like a guy in their 30s as Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire did), and that likely means that new Spider-Man movies are going to be released every other year, keeping young Tom Holland very busy for the foreseeable future. Assuming the trilogy is successful, it's perfectly possible that Holland would then star in another trilogy (this time during Spidey's college years), and even another beyond that!
