When Phase 3 reaches its end, Marvel are going to find themselves at something of a crossroads. The contracts of many of the actors who have been around since Phase 1 are coming to an end, and if they choose to move on, Marvel will either need to decide to turn their focus to the new heroes who will be introduced in Phase 3 or recast familiar roles in a similar way to what's happened with James Bond over the years. Looking at Phase 3 though, it becomes apparent that it might just be all about bringing the stories of Marvel's iconic trio - Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor - to an end. The comic book version of Civil War ends with Steve Rogers behind bars and ultimately assassinated, while the title of Thor's next movie might just tell us all there is to know about what's in store for him as he faces the end of all things with Ragnarok. Iron Man meanwhile remains something of a mystery, but if Civil War concludes with him in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D., it could be a while before that armour is seen again (especially if he blames himself for Cap's death). In fact, rumours point to all three of these guys being off the table for at least the first part of Infinity War, so expect to see their lives go through some major changes from this point on...
