10 Things You Need To Know About The DC Extended Universe

6. The Villains Of Justice League Part One And Two

The two-part Justice League will be shot back-to-back, directed by Zack Snyder, and written by Chris Terrio. When it comes to actual facts about the movie, that's all any of us know at this point! However, there are a lot of very interesting - and mostly reliable - rumours about the direction the team will be taken in when they make their big screen debut in 2017. With Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman squaring off against Doomsday (believed to be the reanimated corpse of General Zod) next year, Justice League Part One is going to up the stakes by introducing Brainiac. Superman inadvertently brought General Zod to Earth in Man Of Steel when he activated a homing beacon in the ancient scout ship he discovered, and that same signal is what causes the arrival of this classic villain. Once Brainiac is dealt with, Justice League Part One is rumoured to conclude with an injured Green Lantern arriving on Earth to tell the League that the real threat is on the way; Darkseid! That all sounds great, though Snyder will need to be careful to avoid comparisons to The Avengers (another alien invasion superhero movie) and the upcoming Infinity War which will star Darkseid lookalike Thanos. Either way, there's no denying that these are two epic threats for the Justice League to take on!
