10 Things You Need To Know About The MCU’s Spider-Man

1. He Might Not Be Spider-Man Forever

The mention of Ultimate Spider-Man earlier in this article may have made your Spidey sense tingle. That€™s probably because Brian Michael Bendis€™ influential retelling of the Spider-Man mythos took a big surprising turn in 2011, when Peter Parker died at the hands of the Green Goblin. Miles Morales €“ a half-black/half-Hispanic teenager €“ took up the web-slinging mantle afterwards. Fans have long lobbied for a live action big screen version of Mile Morales (at one point Donald Glover of Community was lobbying very hard for the part), and they could one day get their wish. The MCU is meant to last forever, so no-one should rule out the possibility that Tom Holland€™s Peter Parker might die at some stage and pave the way for Miles Morales. €œI can€™t talk about that, because, you know, that will reveal too much,€ director Jon Watts told Yahoo Movies in October 2015, when they asked if Morales would show up in the 2017 Spider-Man film. It doesn't sound like he's ruled it out, does it? In the same way that we€™ve seen the cinematic Bucky carry the Captain America shield (foreshadowing that he'll take up the mantle one day, just like in the comics) already, perhaps Watts is lining up a Miles Morales cameo to tease a handing-of-the-baton a little ways down the road. It€™d certainly be untouched ground for a Spidey movie, which is no bad thing. What€™re you looking forward to about the MCU Spider-Man? Let us know in the comments€.
