The reason for the renewed interest in Tim Burton's unmade third Batman film is the recent photos uploaded by sculptor José Fernandez, who was apparently hired to work as a costume designer in charge of updating Keaton's cowl for the last in the trilogy.

If Warner Bros hadn't got cold feet about Burton's darker tone, this is the Batman we could've seen. Keaton struggled with the costume in the first couple of films from a problem that's blighted every Caped Crusader until Christian Bale finally kicked up enough of a fuss during Batman Begins: he couldn't actually move his neck. Hence all the dramatic spins around so he could make eye contact with people. The costume being piloted for Batman 3 looked like it was going to solve that problem.

One of the costumes looked to have more in common with that of the Nolan films, too, with the outfit more like a suit of armour than spandex. The yellow insignia remained and all.
