10 Things You Somehow Missed In Zodiac (2007)

In the film, Inspector David Toschi, who was assigned the Zodiac case, is encouraged to purse other cases after leads on the elusive killer runs dry. But when cartoonist, Robert Graysmith, discovers information which may help put the case to bed, he tracks down Toschi and invites him to lunch. While Graysmith presents his findings, Toschi wolfs down a burger.

Since Graysmith is an amateur detective and the case has been shut for a decade, Toschi is skeptical of his theories at first. But the more the inspector listens to him, the more he realises Graysmith may be onto something. Just before he looks at Graysmith's papers, Toschi wipes his mouth with a napkin. The actor portraying Toschi, Mark Ruffalo, performs this action so quickly, most viewers don't realise what he's really doing.

Contrary to what it looks like, Ruffalo wasn't cleaning his mouth in this shot. In reality, he's spitting a chunk of burger into the napkin. Because of Ruffalo's abstinence from consuming animal products, he refused to eat the burger meat and instead, spat it out when he got a chance.
