10 Things You Somehow Missed In Zodiac (2007)

6. Zodiac More Accurate Than You Could Imagine

Even though there is no non-fiction film that is 100%, Zodiac comes pretty close. For example, every newspaper page regarding the Zodiac killings is a word-for-word recreation of what those papers featured on those corresponding dates. If you put the real newspaper page and the ones used for the movie side-by-side, there wouldn't be a single letter, paragraph, or semi-colon out of place.

The wardrobe department also had the actors who portrayed the victims fitted with the same clothing, shoes, and jewellery as their real-life counterparts for the sake of accuracy.

Although there are many more examples like this, the most accurate aspect of the film is not what is shown but what is not shown. All the scenes involving the killings is based directly on the testimonies of the survivors. As a result, the film doesn't contain any scenes of Zodiac killings unless there was a testimonial. Because the Lake Herman Road shooting had no survivors, this incident wasn't shown in the film at all. Even though David Fincher could've included the Lake Herman Road killings by fabricating events, he wanted the film to be as true-to-life as possible and so, had this sequence omitted.
