10 Thrillers You Need To Watch In 2017
8. Colossal
Some movies sound so bizarre on paper, they just have to be sought out. Whether or not it’ll be any good is another matter entirely, but the elevator pitch for Colossal is just too compelling to miss out on.
The brainchild of Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo – who directed the supremely weird Timecrimes as well as the only worthwhile segment from V/H/S: Viral – Colossal is a comedic monster movie with a bonkers twist. After a massive creature begins levelling buildings in Seoul, Korea, Anne Hathaway comes to realise that she is controlling the body of the monster remotely from the other side of the world.
It’s a genuinely bizarre premise, and initially mixed reviews indicate that Colossal might be one of the year’s most polarizing flicks.
The movie also stars Dan Stevens and Jason Sudeikis, and is scheduled for release on April 7, 2017.
