In the early days, years before it was one of the biggest blockbuster franchises in the history of film, The Fast and the Furious was a story centred around a group of people who classed themselves as 'Familia'.

One of the pillars of this fast-driving heist crew was Letty Ortiz, the girlfriend of Dominic Toretto, played by Michelle Rodriguez. However, as the script wasn't fully thought-out at the time of her signing on to appear in the first feature, the star was left reeling when she found out that the early plan was to have her character cheat on her man in the flick.

Feeling that it wasn't at all realistic for a Latin girl to cheat on her "aplha-est of the alpha males" boyfriend, Rodriguez put her foot down.

Yet, despite claiming that she would've quit the project, the star admitted to saying, "Don’t sue me, please - I’m sorry, but I can’t do this in front of millions of people", suggesting that Rodriguez knew she could be sent packing after butting heads with those in charge. Thankfully that wasn't the case, and Letty would go on to become a glimmer of female badassery in a series over-stuffed with testosterone.
