10 Times Borat Went Too Far

In his first feature film, Borat’s obsession with Baywatch star Pamela Anderson completely derails his initial reason for coming to the United States.

Much to the fury of his producer Azamat, Borat refuses to only film the ‘documentary’ in New York City and insists on a cross-country road trip so he can meet the woman of his dreams.

Many insane hijinks later, he finally meets Pamela Anderson at a signing event in Los Angeles, California. When he gets to the front of the line, he immediately proposes marriage to Pamela, who politely declines. Borat responds by pulling his “traditional marriage sack” over her head and attempting to drag her away. Chaos ensues, naturally, as Borat chases Pamela through a nearby parking lot and is eventually tackled by security.

Anderson later confirmed that she was in on the whole thing, just in case viewers really thought that Sacha Baron Cohen had decided to assault one of Hollywood’s superstars for a joke. The people in the store certainly weren’t clued in on this, though. There’s no doubt that the image of a loud, oddly dressed man pulling a sack over their favourite actress’s head will be a hard one to forget.
