10 Times “Good” Characters Gave Being Evil A Try

2. Superman

Superman is a being of pure good and you would never expect him to turn to evil, but that’s exactly what happened in the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game franchise and comic books. After the Joker destroyed Metropolis, killing Lois Lane, Superman snaps. He thrusts his hand through the clown’s chest killing him, which leaves everyone around him shocked and instantly afraid.

At this point, Superman lost his only tie to humanity, which forced him to conclude that the old way of doing things was no longer working so he became a tyrannical world leader. Superman’s New World Order offends just about every one of his former allies who banded against him in an effort to thwart his newfound evil ways.

Superman’s reign lead to the deaths of countless heroes he formerly stood beside. It was a stark contrast to the Superman we all knew and loved and answered the question, "what would happen if Superman decided one day to become evil?"

As the most powerful character in the DC Universe, he was nearly unstoppable, but was finally removed from power when Batman snagged a still-good Superman from an alternate universe to battle his villainous alter-ego.
