One of the most famous mistakes in the whole of the MCU comes from the other Asgard sibling, the God of Thunder Thor, who's opportunity to kill the Mad Titan in the last few moments of the Infinity War movie went horribly wrong.

As the Avengers battle Thanos in Wakanda, Thor beams down from Nidavellir after creating his new hammer Stormbreaker ready for defeating his enemy. Thanos meanwhile takes the Mind Stone out of Vision, gaining the last stone needed to complete his Gauntlet and wipe out half of the living creatures in the universe. The heroes surround the enemy but are too late.

Thor manages to fly down with only a moment to lose, pushing Stormbreaker in to the chest of his ally and looking him in the eye to wait for his death. However, Thanos manages one last famous line: "You should have gone for the head" before disappearing.

Come on Thor, at least chopping off the hand could have stopped him!

The God of Thunder does manage to get his revenge in Avengers: Endgame, sticking to his word and slicing off the Mad Titan's head in the opening, but all this could have all been resolved if he had just aimed differently in the first place...
