10 Times MCU Characters Seriously Messed Up

Captain America: Civil War saw all our favourite heroes fight against each other in an attempt to make peace over the Earth, disagreeing on signing the Sokovia Accords to minimise their damage on civilian territory after the events of Age of Ultron.

Cap and Tony fought on separate sides, with Steve working to protect close friend and fugitive Bucky Barnes. In the final act of the movie, Tony discovers a CCTV recording of his parents' own deaths, an event that he assumed happened in a car crash. In the footage however, Stark discovers that Bucky was behind the killings, retrieving the bodies out of the car to finish them off.

Wracked with grief, Iron Man asks Steve Rogers if he knew, to which he nods. All this time, Cap had the opportunity to find a quiet private moment with his friend to reveal the secret but waited until the worst possible moment.

In turn, the feud between them continues and nearly costs them both their lives, separating them for the beginning of Infinity War and causing Cap and his team to become fugitives in hiding.
