10 Times Movies Unexpectedly Spawned An Animated Series

There will always be some liberties taken when translating a live-action movie into an animated series, and the term 'loosely based' is one you'll hear thrown around quite a lot when it happens.

However, in this instance, that term is slacker than a broken elastic band. Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series has nothing to do with a small pee-wee hockey team going against all odds to beat the top dogs, all while learning life lessons along the way - it's about a team of anthropomorphic ducks that hail from the planet Puckworld...

That's not all though folks, these alien ducks from another world also love to play hockey, and save their homeworld from the invading alien race known as the Saurian Overlords. The concept is utterly bizarre, but somebody at Disney clearly has a kink for ducks, especially considering they already had the shows Ducktales and Darkwing Duck under their belt.

You can't complain though, because for 26 episodes you get to listen to its totally awesome fist-pumping rock n' roll theme song. Ducks Rock!
