10 Times Star Wars Totally Trolled You
5. Darth Maul’s Pathetic Death
The best thing about The Phantom Menace, which is a bit like being the best thing about being waterboarded, Darth Maul was sliced clean in two by Obi-Wan shortly after the horned Sith killed Qui-Gon.
Maul was no more... or so we thought.
In The Clone Wars, it was revealed that Maul had survived being bisected. He was then restored to full power by magic (genuinely) and went on to be a major player in that series.
So, how did Maul actually die? At the end of an epic lightsaber duel? In a heroic sacrifice after seeing the light?
Nope.
He got beaten in about two seconds by an old man.
In the Star Wars Rebels episode Twin Suns, Maul confronts his old enemy Obi-Wan on Tatooine. The pair stand off, preparing to recreate their iconic battle from many years ago... and then Obi-Wan just kills him.
Seriously, he get about two hits in and then Kenobi just does him in with one blow. It's not even really clear where he hit him.
After being brought back from the dead, Darth Maul finally returned there in the most anticlimactic way possible.
