10 Times The MCU Gave Fans EXACTLY What They Wanted
1. The Portals Scene - Avengers: Endgame
After Thanos turned half of the universe to dust at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, fans were desperate to see how it would be undone in Avengers: Endgame.
It's a funny thing - the overwhelming majority of viewers knew that the Blip would be negated somehow, but the predictability of its undoing did nothing to undermine our collective need to see it happen.
And that's of course exactly what we got in Endgame's climax, with Professor Hulk using the new Nano Gauntlet to reverse the snap, in turn bringing every dusted person back to life just in time for the final battle.
It's a glorious, impossibly well-executed moment, as Cap hears "On your left" from Falcon (Anthony Mackie) through his earpiece, and the resurrected heroes begin emerging en masse through a series of inter-dimensional portals.
Basically every MCU hero we've met up to this point mounts up to do battle with Thanos and his army, before Cap issues the long-awaited rallying cry, "Avengers, assemble!"
22 movies over more than a decade had been leading up to this moment, and it sure as hell didn't disappoint. It's unlikely the MCU will ever deliver a single moment more overwhelmingly gratifying than this, and that's just fine.
