10 Times There Were Fistfights On Movie Sets

2. Werner Herzog Vs. Klaus Kinski

The combination of Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski was one that featured in a number of films, but neither of them made any secret of the fact that they frequently fell out.

Truth be told, it would have been impossible for them to hide it, even if they tried.

Each having what could be described as a "strong personality", there would be arguments, scuffles and shouting matches that lasted for insane amounts of time. Despite this - or because of it? - Herzog has very openly described Kinski as his muse and clearly held his acting skills and ability to translate his vision to the big screen in the highest regard possible.

The strange dynamic of their relationship is best captured in the documentary My Best Fiend (sic), which was released nine years after Kinski passed away. The constant and lively verbal exchanges can be seen, as well as light physical skirmishes.

Easily the scariest of all their interactions was on the set of 1972's Aguirre, The Wrath of God, when a lengthy shouting match led to Herzog actually pulling a gun out and pointing it at his lead actor.
