10 Tiny Horror Movie Details That Give Away Character Secrets

2. The Empty Gun - Saw

Another film that's supposedly all about gore but is actually pretty smart is Saw. Well, the first one anyway. After that it's very hit and miss.

The film that made the game Mousetrap come with a trigger warning, the original Saw movie opens with two men waking up in a dark room.

If that wasn't bad enough, they wake up underwater.

If that wasn't bad enough, they're chained to a pipe via the ankle.

If that wasn't bad enough, there's a dead bloke lying in the room with them having just blown his head off with a revolver.

Look, you get the point. It's a grim situation.

Actually, one of those statements was a lie, because the guy on the floor isn't actually dead. What he is, is John Kramer, the mastermind behind this elaborate game.

Adam and Gordon, Kramer's two captives, should have known something was awry when they noticed that his revolver was empty. Revolvers need to have their spent cartridges manually removed, so there should have been something in the chamber from when John fired it.

But there wasn't. Because John didn't shoot himself. If only Gordon had known this before he sawed off his own foot.

What a silly billy.
