Michael Fassbender is one of the best actors working today, and that is evidenced by the fantastic performances he has given in films such as Shame, Steve Jobs and his defining role as Magneto in the X-Men series. However, his Academy Award-nominated turn playing the famous creator of Apple was the last well-received film that he was a part of, with every other one since being considered not just lacklustre, but actively bad.

Some of the worst titles that he has graced have been the declining X-men sequels, where his role became less and less relevant, and what was once his crowning glory became his biggest embarrassment. Additionally, his great part in the otherwise okay Prometheus went the same direction, with the poorly received Covenant continuing to ruin the Alien franchise.

Even further from this was the dreadful The Snowman that certainly didn't do his career any favours.
