9. Officer Joe Vickers (Psycho Cop, 1989)
Officer Joe Vickers bares manly similarities with Maniac Cop's Matt Cordell but is perhaps lesser know. Released in 1989 the film Psycho Cop focuses on the exploits of a good cop with a tendency to murder people he believes are committing crimes. He's like Judge Dredd but without the strong moral fibre. He does however have one hell of a sense of humour, which is always handy when you're stabbing someone in the face. Amazingly Joe Vickers is able to take a ridiculous amount of punishment thanks to his pact with the Devil that keeps him breathing long after he should have been stuck in a box and fed to the worms. Presumable this also gives him his Jason Voorhees style speed as he can catch cars up just by walking at a normal pace. It's presumably also the only reason any studio ever decided a sequel would be a good idea which allowed everyone's favourite B-Movie cop the chance to scare the sh*t out of us all over again. I jest of course. As ridiculous as the Psycho Cop movies were there's no denying Joseph Vickers is one cop you don't want pulling you over on a dark night.
