10 Totally Unanswered Questions From Your Favourite Christmas Films

9. Die Hard - Hans' Notebook

Die Hard is a movie I watched because I accidently let it slip to someone that I had never seen it before and, because everyone has a copy of Die Hard somewhere on their hard drive, I was forced onto a couch and it was streamed into my eye holes until I couldn't take it anymore. In the end, I liked the movie. Carl Winslow and peppermint bark will always go well together. At any rate, I was really taken by Alan Rickman's performance because, well, he's amazing in everything he does. However, there is a scene in which his character, international terrorist Hans Gruber, takes out a notebook and begins to write a little while addressing the hostages. He then puts the notebook back in this jacket and it is never to be seen or heard of again. What on Earth was he writing? What it his memoirs? The names of his hostages? What order he planned on killing the hostages? A grocery list? This is what I was talking about earlier - the main action gets wrapped up nicely at the end of this movie, so the little things can generally sit on the back burner. Generally. Unfortunately, as a writer myself, I am very intrigued and would like to know what was going on in that beautifully crafted, highly untouchable notebook.
