1o. Tinkerbell Grows Big & Then Shrinks Down Again (For No Reason) - Hook
Fans of Hook can argue as much as they like as to whether or not there's a genuine significance to this scene - that it's Tinkerbell's ultimate wish to be human-sized, so she can share a romantic moment with Peter or whatever - but the reason as to why it ended up being included in the movie nicely cements the fact that it has no real reason to exist, and was implemented as the result of an actor's ego, and not for the creative aspects some might have originally thought. That's to say, there's a weird, "what the heck?" moment in Steven Spielberg's grossly gross fantasy adventure Hook where Tinkerbell, as played by Julia Roberts, suddenly goes from small size to normal size, exchanges some sentimental garbage with Peter, and then shrinks down again. Even as a kid, I always pondered the relevance of this moment, simply because it didn't seem to make sense within the confines of the movie. And it doesn't. Not really. In fact, it was only put into the movie because Roberts insisted she share a scene with an actor, and this was what they came up with. No wonder that part always felt so out of place: zero purpose served.
