10 Toughest Dilemmas In Horror Movies
6. Would You Kill Someone To Steal Their Lifespan? - Final Destination 5
By far the most interesting thing about Final Destination 5 is its inspired revision of Death's rules, by introducing a fascinating new gambit.
Basically, those ensnared in Death's plan can kill someone who wasn't fated to die during the instigating catastrophe and in turn steal their natural lifespan, effectively removing themselves from Death's list for the foreseeable future.
It's easier said than done to take a life, for sure, but as the bodies of your friends start piling up around you and the notion that Death is quite literally coming for you gets very real, you might start thinking differently about it.
But at the same time, killing someone isn't easy, especially if you're not a violently inclined person.
And you can't even mercy-kill, say, an old or terminally ill person, given that their limited lifespan would only keep Death at bay for a brief time - as Nathan (Arlen Escarpeta) learns to his cost at film's end.
You need to kill someone who's healthy and around your own age or younger, ideally, which makes it an altogether more horrifying prospect.
But the fear of a brutal impending death is a powerful motivator, and so many would surely be compelled to find a way to surreptitiously kill a random stranger.
