5. Nebula

One of two adopted daughters of the galactic warlord Thanos, Nebula is a cybernetically-enhanced assassin of the Luphomoid race. Raised under the tutelage of Ronan the Accuser, Nebula became a galaxy-class killer who served Thanos unconditionally - but whom could never impress him quite as much as her adoptive sister Gamora. This made her bitter and ensured she stayed on the evil path - unlike Gamora - and she had come to blows on numerous occasions with Gamora. She tended to come off second best whenever they fought - somewhat justifying Thanos' favouring Gamora - and, on one occasion, Gamora threw her off a cliff, severely injuring her and resulting in the requirement of the aforementioned cybernetic upgrades. Despite being slightly inferior to Gamora, she is an incredible fighter who easily took out hordes of generic space flunkies.
