10 Tragic Movie Endings That Probably Had Awesome Silver Linings

1. The Mist

The Tragic Ending: David Drayton (Thomas Jane) has been having a bad week. First, a storm hit his Maine home, interrupting his work. Even worse, he later found the storm had felled his neighbour€™s (Andre Braugher) tree, which hit the family boat-house. Then, to top it all off, David and his son (Nathan Gamble) became trapped in a local supermarket after a hole to another dimension opened up and spewed giant creatures with a taste for human flesh out all over the place. Thankfully, David, his son and three other survivors manage to break out of the store, make it to a car and drive away in search of safety. However, this being a story by Stephen King, the car runs out of fuel with David and team still in the vicinity of the vicious alien beasts. And so David decides to take the sensible way out, shooting everybody in the car in a serial mercy killing, including his own son. The Silver Lining: The worst is yet to come for David - moments later, help arrives in the form of armed forces killing all the otherworldly creatures in their path. Which isn€™t so great for David or the people he€™s just killed for no reason, but everyone else in the world must be thrilled. Which other movie endings are a little happier than you first thought? Cheer everyone up down in the comments.
