10 Tragic Movie Endings That Probably Had Awesome Silver Linings

9. Toy Story 3

The Tragic Ending: Remember those favourite childhood toys you had, the ones that you 'grew out of' and eventually just decided to give away after time had robbed you of hope and innocence? Well, prepare to feel guilty, because Toy Story 3 is all about what happens to those toys after you've selfishly decided to move on. And it ain't pretty. As the Toy Story trilogy comes to a close, Woody, Buzz, Potato Head, Rex and co (but no Bo Peep? What the hell happened to Bo Peep?!) are left moving from a hellpit of a daycare centre ran by a lovable, psychopathic bear, to a new home, with new owners, and no sense of familiarity, as old owner Andy simply packs up and runs away to college, like the self-centred dork you always suspected him to be. The Silver Lining: The fact that Woody, Buzz and co are handed over to a new family is a sign of hope, that perhaps these toys are destined to keep playing forever, albeit under new ownership and in new, exciting locales. Sure, they€™ll have to move on again as soon as this kid€™s grown up, and then so on and so on with subsequent new owners, but that€™s all part of moving on to the next crazy adventure, right?
