The Tragic Ending: The film that started the found footage craze that now annoyingly refuses to stop is known best for one scene: the one where everything goes horribly wrong. After days of being stalked and haunted by an unseen foe, student filmmakers lost deep in what are said to be haunted Maryland woods find themselves up against it as they discover once and for all that the legend about the Blair Witch is true. On a positive note: stumbling upon the house of the Blair Witch means the students documentary about said witch finally has its big scoop. On a more negative note: theyre all about to die. The Silver Lining: With the video footage found and released into cinemas for all to see, those heroes havent (probably, and really horribly as well) died for nothing. Its doubtful any foolish young people will dare go into those woods again, and youd at least think thered be a police hunt to arrest that witch.
